What is AIMA?
The AI Movie Awards (AIMA) is an international film festival, with the first edition based in Palma de Mallorca, celebrating films created with artificial intelligence. Our goal is to honor creativity, innovation, and the new visual languages emerging from human–machine collaboration.
Who can submit a film?
AIMA is open to filmmakers, artists, studios, and creators worldwide who have produced a film using AI tools during the year 2025/2026. Whether you’re an independent creator or a team, everyone is welcome.
What kind of films are accepted?
We accept AI films (2 min minimum), features, experimental, animated, documentary AI works.
The majority of your content (images, video, sound) should be AI-generated — small post-production edits with traditional tools are fine.
Which categories do the movies compete in?
These are the Mallorca AIMA award categories:
Best AI Movie
Best AI Short
Best AI Soundtrack
Best AI Audience Award
Best AI Documentary
Best AI Sci-FI
Best AI Thriller
Best AI Drama
Best AI Fantasy

Who will judge the AI films?
A jury of experts from the tech and film industries will evaluate submissions. More details about the jury will be announced in the coming weeks.
Who handles copyright clearance for submitted videos?
Participants are responsible for ensuring that all materials, characters, and assets in their films are cleared for use and fully protected before submission.
Can I submit a film already shown at another festival?
Yes! AIMA does not require exclusivity. You can submit works already presented elsewhere, as long as they were completed in 2025/2026.
What language should the film be in?
Films can be in any language, but English subtitles are required for all non-English entries.
What do the winners receive?
Each category winner receives an official AIMA trophy and a digital award certificate, international recognition, and inclusion in the official AIMA YouTube and social media showcase. Selected films are screened during the AIMA 2026 event in Mallorca on March the 29th, 2026.
How do I submit my film?
All submissions must be made exclusively through FilmFreeway.com and FestHome.com between October 20, 2025, and March 1, 2026.
Entry fees are non-refundable, and each creator can submit up to two films.
